ADOPTED!
Meet Cole! He is a 3-4 yr old black male Labrador who will put a smile on your face.
Cole is on the smaller size of a male labrador, which makes him desirable to families not wanting a bigger dog. He weighs approx 52 lbs; however, he is on the thin side and could use a few pounds. Cole loves the dogs he is fostered with, big and small. He also loves to play fetch, and he will run after the ball for as long as you throw it. His foster mom says that the Chuck-It is the best invention for playing with him. Cole has also discovered the pool at his foster home and has enjoyed taking a swim and going after the ball when thrown in the pool.
Cole is crate trained and sleeps all night without making a noise. He is also housebroken and will let you know when he needs to go outside. Rescue dogs can have an accident when they get to their new home until they have a routine down with their new family. Cole pulls a little on the leash which taking his walks but is very easy to stop. Cole also knows some basic commands, but some training is always a good idea for a new dog. Cole has also shown some interest in the counters, it is very important to make sure that there is nothing on the counter that he can get to. He is already showing improvement with this and his new family will need to reinforce this training.
Cole came to us as a stray at a nearby shelter, and his family never came to get him. Our local volunteer rushed to pick him up as soon as she could. Cole was so happy to get out of there and jumped right in the back of the car. He is a great traveler.
Cole would love a home where he will get exercise and playtime. A supply of tennis balls should be available for him, along with some chew toys and bones. His foster mentioned that he had emptied the toy basket on more than one occasion looking for the perfect toy or bone. Cole would also like to have a home with another canine companion or someone who is home most of the time. He wants to be part of a family. Cole would be a perfect dog to take on errands if it’s not too hot, doggy play dates, a dog beach, or to hang with his family.
Cole is neutered, up to date on his shots, and microchipped.
