ADOPTED!
GINNY!!!
She should be named, MISS WIGGLY BUTT! Ginny is a happy, wiggly, sweet, entertaining, and did we mention the funniest 6-7-year-old female Labrador around?
Ginny came to us from a shelter where she was dropped off by her previous family, stating they had a change in their living conditions and couldn’t provide for her any longer. Our contact at the shelter reached out to us to see if we could help. WCLRR’s team jumped into action and within a short amount of time were at the shelter meeting sweet Ginny. Within a few moments, our volunteer fell in love with her and pulled her out of the shelter. After a bath and some playtime, Ginny was on her way to her new life.
Ginny loves to fetch! Her new family will want to have a plentiful supply of balls and toys for her. A Chuck-It is a must! She will bring the ball and drop it at your feet. She also loves the pool. We attached is a video of her enjoying the game of fetch in the pool. She is quite the swimmer and will jump right in. She will also play ball by herself; if no one is throwing it for her. She’ll toss it over and over again. She is very entertaining!
Ginny is medium-high energy, even for her age. She will require someone who will play fetch with her, allow her to swim, and take a pleasant 45-60 minute walk or jog. Once she has her exercise, she settles nicely and is a dream in the house. Some basic training is always a good idea with any new dog.
The shelter states Ginny’s age at 6-7 years old. But she has the energy of a younger dog. She does have minor arthritis, and her new family will want to consult with their vet, to keep her in the best shape possible. Ginny is crate trained and housebroken. Families should be prepared for a possible accident in the house as she gets accustomed to her new home and family routine. Ginny knows some basic commands. She will pull a little on the leash, but with some correction and training will be perfect.
Ginny is currently fostered with other dogs and a cat. She gets along great with all of them, including the cat! A home with other dogs and a pool would be perfect for Ginny. However, if a family with someone home most of the time, dedicated to exercising her would be useful as well. We think Ginny is a “people” dog. She loves being with adults, kids, and other dogs.
If you love to travel, she does well in the car and may enjoy camping, dog-friendly places coffee shops, dog beaches, and hikes.
Ginny has visited our vet for a full exam, including bloodwork. She is spayed and is up to date of her vaccines. She is also microchipped and us up to date on flea meds. Now, all Ginny needs is her furever family that will love her and cherishes her.
