ADOPTED!

Introducing Gus!

Gus is a handsome 6-7-year-old neutered male yellow Labrador. He was listed at a high kill shelter when a volunteer from WCLRR spotted him. Once available, our volunteer was there to get him out of the shelter.

Gus’s eyes said it all; he was so thankful and couldn’t understand why his family never came for him. Gus will never need to worry about that again. WCLRR promises to find Gus a perfect home for him as we do for all of our fosters.

Gus is a big boy who is overweight and out of shape. A proper diet of good quality food and exercise is whats needed for this boy. He is already on the road to be the best he can be, which we all think he’s terrific.

Gus didn’t get much training at this previous home, so his new family will want to work on basic commands and to walk on a leash, as he does currently pull. A training class will be fun for both Gus and his new family.

Gus’s foster family has other large dogs and kitties, and he gets along with all of them. He would love a new home with another canine companion or frequent visits for socializing and playtime with other dogs. We also think he would do great in a home if someone is there most of the time.

Gus is mild-mannered, crate trained, and he is working on his potty training, he is doing very well. His new family will want to continue to reinforce his training. A doggy door would be great for him as well.

Gus came to us with ear infections. Once he visited our vet, his ears are clearing up. His new family should follow up with their vet to make sure his ears stay infection-free. It is a common trait in Labradors, but a small price to pay for the loyalty and love Gus will bring to his new home.

Gus is neutered, up to date on his shots and microchipped, now all he needs is a family to call his own.
