ADOPTED!

Meet Sandy, a darling, Labby girl bursting with love. She is approx two years old and playful yet calm and quiet, just a lovely girl.

Sandy is a happy, sweet girl looking for a family who will show her lots of love, as she never got much positive attention and the training that she needs. She responds well to love and soft positive words and tone, but may have been mistreated — so mainly males must be calm and loving with no quick motions until you earn her trust.

Sandy loves her long hikes at foster in Malibu. She does well on a leash but is learning off-leash, beginning to pack in and coming to hand signals but not voice or whistle, so she needs training and a strong relationship with you before working off-leash.

She loves riding in the car, jumping right in, and enjoys doing errands. Sandy needs exercise like all young Labs but is medium energy.

She gets on well with the four family Labs at her foster home, and will do well with a canine friend, but will be fine as an only dog if her family is with her.

Labs her age chew, and in the absence of exercise and the right toys, they will find other things to chew, although Sandy is not a chewer. She loves her daily beef ribs, and they make tasty chews, as do Kongs, Antlers, and Bully Sticks. Rawhide bones are never good for dogs.

Puppy proof your home — No food, gum, or medications within reach as these could be deadly to a dog. All trash must be in a latched closed cabinet or a dog proof trash can, and counters clear, as Sandy is tall and will stand up to search counters.

We suggest some basic training classes for Sandy to reinforce the basics that she already knows but would be a great bonding experience for her and her new family.

Sandy is spayed, up to date on her shots, microchipped and ready for her forever home. She is house trained.
