ADOPTED!
Meet Dasher! He’s a cute Golden Retriever Mix, who is sweet and handsome. Dasher is a young boy approx 1 – 1 1/2 years old and is full of spunk. He is adorable and very expressive and photogenic, as you can see in his photos!
Dasher was found alongside a bustling freeway when it was pouring down rain over the Thanksgiving holiday. A Good Samaritan kept him safe until she could take him to the shelter so his family could find him. Unfortunately, his family never came. We were made aware of Dasher’s situation, and when Dasher became available at the shelter for adoption, we were there to make sure he was safe with WCLRR.
Dasher is working with our trainer learning commands, as you can see in the video on his bio. He has great potential and is picking up commands quickly and easily. Because Dasher is very young and had no training before coming to WCLRR, his new family will want to continue with the practice.
Also, Dasher will need exercise; a walk around the block will not be enough for him. He would love a running partner, hiking, swimming, and playing fetch with his new family. Dogs with little stimulation will start chewing and become destructive. Lots of chew toys, NylaBones, and Kongs filled with treats will help keep him occupied and busy.
Dasher is currently fostered with another dog and enjoys the company. We believe Dasher would like a home with another canine companion to keep him busy, and the company of a family that has time to spend with him and won’t leave him alone for long hours at a time.
Dasher is completely housebroken and sleeps throughout the night on a dog bed. He is working on sleeping in his crate. Dasher does pull on a leash, but also he is getting much better, and practice will make him a better walker.
Dasher was recently neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped.
