ADOPTED!

AS SEEN ON HALLMARK’S “HOME AND FAMILY SHOW”!

Meet Nike!  This adorable 11-month-old male chocolate Labrador is cute and fun!  He is a typical young Labrador who loves to keep you on your toes and active.

Nike loves to play with a soccer ball or play with any ball or toy he can find!  He is a very active boy who will need exercise!

Nike would be a great running partner. Taking him running will get the energy out that all young Labradors have stored up in them. So often, we are approached to take a young Labrador into our rescue because the family purchased a cute nine-week-old puppy. What they didn’t take into consideration is that this cute adorable puppy is going to get big.

Puppies grow fast. As they grow, they require more and more attention and exercise. The family doesn’t have the time that is needed to train or give the pup the needed activity.  Nike came to WCLRR when his family, who loved him very much, had to move into a smaller home and realized he needed more space and just had too much energy for the smaller space. A young energetic boy like  Nike needs room to run and play

Nike is doing so well in his foster home. He is learning to sit, lay down and shake. Nike will need some additional training, and he does pull on a leash.  A couple of training classes will help with this. Nike is housebroken and loves to sleep in his foster parent’s bed when allowed. Most of the time, he is on a dog bed right next to his foster canine buddy, another Labrador.

Nike is still very much a puppy. His new family should make sure that their home is “puppy-proofed.” All tables, counters, nightstands, and trash should be cleared and locked away where Nike cannot get into the gum, candy, medicine, and other items that would be deadly to a dog. Electrical cords, shoes and anything that Nike thinks he can chew will be. His family should make sure they have a large supply and selection of appropriate toys such as Kongs and Nylabones for Nike to chew. Nike also loves to play fetch. His family may want to get a “Chuck-It” to throw the ball for him.

Our vet saw Nike, and he was neutered, received all of his shots, and microchipped.

Nike needs an active family. Sitting alone in a home while his family is gone is not be a good fit for Nike. Doggie daycare, someone who is home and won’t leave him alone all day, would be an excellent fit for him.
