ADOPTED!

Meet Deacon! He is a two-year-old labby boy who is somewhere between puppy antics and a calm grownup.

Deacon is very friendly with all he meets, and you are his best friends if you give him a scratch on his back or belly. Deacon is in tune with what’s going on around him and, he loves to be with his humans. He will track you down in the house, whether it’s while you’re cooking dinner or next to your chair while watching television.

Deacon knows some basic commands such as sit and down he is treat motivated so that learning will be easy for this young boy. He loves to go on walks and does reasonably well, not reacting to other dogs or cats. As long as he’s near you, he’s a happy, wiggly sweet boy. He’s glad to be active, but he’s not a high energy dog.  He wants to give and receive love.

Deacon is good with dogs and gets quite happy to see them on a walk.
He is house trained and has learned how to use the doggy door to let himself out. Deacon is currently fostered with three small dogs and a cat and does very well with them. He does want to play rough, so maybe a dog buddy closer to his size would make a good play partner.

Deacon sleeps in the bedroom with the foster son at night on a dog bed, but he also loves sleeping on the son’s bed. He also enjoys going on car rides. He will pop out of deep sleep if he thinks he’s going to go on a walk or a ride in the car.  Deacon would be a great errand buddy, going to dog-friendly restaurants and sites around town.

We believe Deacon will do best with a family who will get him the exercise that he needs as he is a young boy.  He could also be a good fit for a family that is retired or work from home.

Deacon is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots.
