ADOPTED!
Meet Emerson! He is an approximately 1-year-old yellow male Labrador, which we call a Dudley. A Dudley Labrador is a yellow Labrador that does not have any pigmentation on the nose, eyes, eye rims, and feet. They look pink from birth throughout their entire life. It’s a unique genetic trait, and he is stunning, as you can see in his photos.
Emerson was a stray at a high kill shelter when a volunteer from WCLRR spotted him. We immediately rescued him from the shelter, where he was confused about why his family never came back for him.
Emerson is a young, energetic boy who is a big puppy. His new family will have to commit to a training regime immediately. We are asking for a training deposit to ensure he receives the needed training, so he is the best dog he can be. He is smart and will learn quickly with practice, but his new family must have the dedication to make this happen. He does know to sit and stay, which is an excellent start on his future training needs. Depending on the area, we can recommend some great trainers.
Emerson loves being with people and does well with all dogs. No kitties for Emerson. Emerson is housebroken and learned the doggy door at his fosters in no time. He also loves toys. His new home should have a supply of toys, Nylabones, Kongs, and other fun items for him to choose from. He is a cuddle bug and loves to snuggle with this family.
Emerson will make a great running partner or hiking buddy. Due to his young age, he will need a very active family. No small children for Emerson as he could knock them over. He is walking well using a Gentle Leader, and his foster mom says he has made vast improvements on his walking.
Emerson is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots.
