ADOPTED!
Meet Lucas! He is an approximately four-year-old yellow male Labrador who is as sweet as he looks. He is still a puppy in many ways and loves to carry stuffed toys around the house.
Lucas has been great working on his house training, and he is getting better. He does know how to use the dog door and has been using it more now. His new family will want to continue working on this.
Lucas gets along great with everyone he meets, including large and small dogs. We are cautiously optimistic regarding cats but would recommend a cat who is dog savvy because he loves to chase anything that runs. He’s not quite sure what to do when they don’t run, though. Lucas has been around kids and loves the attention. However, he is learning not to jump up on people, so maybe older children would be best until he masters that skill.
Lucas also loves to ride in the car and will lay or sit quietly in the back seat. He would like to go everywhere with his new family, and he would be a great buddy to run errands with, go to the doggy beach, hikes, or just a casual stroll around the neighborhood. He is learning how to walk on the leash but think he would be delighted to be someone’s walking or jogging buddy.
Lucas is very respectful of the counters and does not try to steal food or bother you while you are eating. He does love french fries and will patiently wait until one comes his way.
Lucas’s new home will want to have a supply of good safe, and healthy chew toys for him, such as Nylabones. Lucas is non-destructive, and he is even respectful of all the stuffed toys and is happy to walk around with one in his mouth or cuddled up with him.
Lucas is crate trained and sleeps throughout the night without a peep.
We think Lucas would do best in an active family but can stay at home with his dog buddies while you work during the day. He also loves it when you cuddle up with him on the couch or the floor. You’ll be his friend forever if you give him belly rubs or scratches behind his ears.
Lucas came to WCLRR with some injuries to his legs; however, they’ve been treated by our veterinarian and are just about completely healed.
Lucas is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines.
