ADOPTED!
Meet Luke! He is the reason why our precious Golden and Labradors have been the number one dog for years and years. Luke is as perfect as you will find in a dog.
Luke is approximately five years old. The family that owned him since puppyhood surrendered him to the rescue. Unfortunately, current circumstances forced them to make their unselfish decision as they could not provide Luke with the home that he deserved.
Luke is perfect, according to his foster. He is a gentleman in and out of the house. Luke is completely housebroken and does not get on the furniture. He is not food or treat possessive and does not beg. He takes treats very gently. Luke is a gentle soul, only wanting to please and be loved. He is fostered with a Labrador and a little dog and is wonderful with them.
Luke loves his stuffed toys and will carry them around in his mouth all day without issues of sharing. He knows basic commands such as sit, and shake and listens very well to his foster family. Luke also loves going for car rides. If he has his choice, he would sit shotgun and enjoy the sights along the drive.
Luke is considered a medium to low activity level dog. He would love to go on hikes with his new family, strolls in the park, taking in all the sights and sounds along the way. He would also be delighted to lounge on a lazy Sunday afternoon, watching a football game with his new family or a “Hallmark Movie,” whatever the choice is for the day. That’s just how flexible, and well adjusted Luke is. He goes with the flow.
Luke has a beautiful coat that was very matted and dirty when WCLRR first got him into the rescue. His foster family had him groomed, and his new family will need to keep up on the brushing and grooming, so he does not get in that condition again.
Luke received dental, a microchip, complete blood work, neutered, and a comprehensive exam by our veterinarian team. He is a healthy boy on the larger side of a Golden Retriever.
