ADOPTED!

Meet Carter! He is a chocolate male Labrador Retriever who is approximately eight years old. Carter was brought to WCLRR when he was left with a family friend temporarily. His stay turned out to be much longer than they had agreed. Unfortunately, Carter’s family never came back to get him. That’s when the friends reached out to us to help them find him a great WCLRR home.

Carter is an easygoing boy. He is medium to low energy, and his foster family said he is a complete joy to have around. Carter is currently in a foster home with another male Labrador, who is the best of buddies. Carter loves humans and enjoys hanging with them as well.

Carter is completely house trained and knows how to use the doggy door. He also walks well on a leash and loves getting out for his daily strolls.

Carter is non-aggressive and has been introduced to the foster grandchildren, toddlers, and even infants and is gentle. Carter enjoys car rides but doesn’t jump in on his own. He will require some help to get in for now until he masters that, but once in the car settles in for the ride.

Carter knows some commands such as sit, stay, and takes treats gently. He is a great listener and knows his name.

Carter loves chilling on his fosters couch (if allowed) but will sleep on a dog bed. He prefers to be near someone. Carter is an extremely loving, happy dog and greats everyone friendly, always quick to wag his tail.

Carter is good with large and small dogs. He may be good with cats, but we haven’t witnessed this first hand. Carter has not barked since he arrived at his foster home.

Carter can be a bit timid or hesitant in new situations. He is curious and will explore new surroundings but at times needs a reassuring

Carter recently had a complete exam and senior blood panel and is a healthy boy, he is up to date on his shots, neutered and microchipped.
