ADOPTED!

Meet Simon! He is a young male chocolate Labrador approximately 1 1/2 years old. Simon came to WCLRR from a local shelter as a stray. Once he was made available, WCLRR was able to get him into our rescue.

Simon is an active boy who needs an active family that will get him plenty of exercise. Simon was never walked on a leash so that he will need leash training. His foster family has been working with him and has found that a harness works well for him. Simon is a large boy and is very strong. He loves going for his walks. He will need additional leash training to make walks more enjoyable for his new family and himself.

Simon sleeps through the night without any accidents. His new family should reinforce housebreaking with him. He is young and could have an accident until he is comfortable and understands the routine in his new home. Simon takes treats nicely and will sit for one.

Simon loves to play fetch. It’s a great way to get some of his youthful energy out. His new family may want to purchase a “Chuck it” so there can be endless games of fetch. Due to his youth, the new family should make sure that all items are out of his reach, including counters and coffee tables.  The new family must remove items such as eyeglasses, remotes, any form of medication, etc.

Simon loves being with people and would rather hang out with his family. He will be a loyal companion for an active home with someone that likes to run, hike, and play would be good for him.

Because of Simon’s size and the risk of knocking down a young child, we will not be able to place him in a home with children under the age of 10. Simon gets along with other dogs and would like another playful dog in the house.
