ADOPTED!
Meet Walter! He is a handsome black male Labrador Retriever, approximately 7-9 years old. Walter was found wandering in the High Desert when a good Samaritan picked him. After looking for Walters owners for several weeks, it was determined that he probably was dumped in the desert. We rushed to get him and took him to our veterinarian immediately. Walter was in bad shape. Since then he has been given the royal treatment.
Walter has received full-body X-rays, shots, neutered, blood work, and a dental. He also received cold laser treatment and acupuncture because of a limp from an old injury that never healed properly. Walter also had a biopsy to make sure his swollen paw wasn’t something bad, and the good news is, it was confirmed that it was another old injury that never healed correctly. Walter will always have the limp, but it doesn’t stop him from enjoying short walks and backyard play with the other dogs in his foster home.
Walter has learned a few commands while with his foster, and he loves to be brushed. He will sit forever if your willing to brush him. Also, he loves baths.
Walter loves all food, even fruit. He is at a perfect weight approximately 75 lbs and can hop on a couch or in a car easily. Because of his limp, he mostly enjoys hanging out in the backyard with the foster family’s dogs. Walter has not shown any interest in the pool, but this would be an excellent exercise for him and his aging joints and some arthritis he has in his elbows.
Walter is a happy lab, always wagging his tail and loving his new life as a WCLRR pup. Walter can be a counter surfer, so his new family will want to make sure that all food, remotes, eyeglasses, medicines, candy, and all items are kept clear.
Walter will probably always need to be on some meds for his paw and arthritis, but this is manageable. His foster representative can discuss his current needs with his potential new family.
Walter is neutered, up to date on his vaccines; microchipped had completed labs were done and a dental.
