ADOPTED!
Meet Baxter! He is a light cream colored male Golden Retriever about four years old. Baxter has been described as perfect, beautiful, stunning, and a total pleasure to foster.
Baxter was in a loving and caring home. Unfortunately, things changed for the family, and they felt that Baxter would be better going to a new family. We are thankful to his previous owners for choosing WCLRR to help Baxter find his new “furever” home.
Baxter loves people, and he likes to make sure his people are nearby. At first, Baxter was a little timid and reserved, but he warmed up to his entire foster family in a short amount of time.
Baxter likes playing with the other dogs he is fostered with but does not care for overpowering and energetic dogs. Another easy-going, well-mannered dog would be great for Baxter. He loves playing fetch. His foster says he knows the word “ball” and will find a ball for you to toss. Baxter also loves toys like a Nylabone or Kong Extreme.
Baxter is housebroken. While any dog can have an accident in their new home, understanding his signs to go outside while learning is essential. Baxter will go out to do his business but likes coming back in the house quickly and being with his family.
Baxter sleeps through the night on a dog bed in his foster parents’ bedroom. Baxter knows a few basic commands and takes treats gently; he walks well on a leash and loves to get long belly rubs and cuddle.
Baxter is a great listener and a total gentleman in the house. Baxter loves going for car rides. However, he is not a fan of getting in the car, so his new family will want to work with him or purchase a car ramp to make it easier getting and in out for car rides and adventures. Baxter’s family needs to commit to regular grooming appointments to avoid mattes, especially around his ears and tail.
Baxter is an easy-going, medium energy pup that wants to hang with his family. We believe he would like another canine companion that has the same energy. A home with a family member around most of the time would be best for Baxter as he is used to someone around.
Baxter is neutered, up to date on his shot, and microchipped.
