ADOPTED!
Meet June! She’s a ten-year-old female chocolate Labrador Retriever who is much more active than her years. June came to WCLRR as an owner surrender with her best friend April due to the family working long hours and taking care of a small child. June and April should be adopted together. We believe it is most desirable for both dogs and gives the new family the best of both worlds!
June loves toys, balls – actually anything she can carry around in her mouth. June is currently living with her best friend, April, along with four small dogs and a cat. She gets along great with the small dogs but not best buddies with the cat. Unfortunately, we do not think June would be a good fit for a home with a cat.
June is very active for her age and is up for a long walk or a light jog once or twice a day. She would also be more than happy to play fetch for hours in your backyard. June learned to use the dog door on her first day and will split her time between exploring the backyard and stretching out on a dog bed in the front room.
June and April share the same sleeping quarters and eat their meals side by side. June is wholly housetrained and has never had an accident. Even though June likes to play more like a younger dog, you also get the calmness found in an older dog. She will track her foster mom down to get a pet, kiss, and snuggle before she bounds off to play or beg for treats.
We have found she does not try to take food off the counters when preparing dinner, which is a real plus since she could quickly jump up and take whatever she wanted. If you are looking for a total snuggle bug who also loves to play and go on long walks, June is your girl!
June has had a complete exam, including bloodwork. She is current on her vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.
