ADOPTED!

Meet Nilla! She is a sweet, lovable female yellow Labrador Retriever, approximately 3 ½ years old. Nilla came to WCLRR when her family’s living situation changed, and they could no longer care for her. In addition, it appears that Nilla had a litter of puppies sometime in the past.

Nilla is a medium to a higher-energy pup that loves to play! She is terrific with other dogs, young and old, large and small. She is currently living with an 11-year-old Lab and a Maltese, and they all get along great! Nilla’s foster Mom also has a 16-year-old dog that Nilla doesn’t bother, a cat, and two turtles. Nilla is curious about the cat but doesn’t try to chase it, and she hasn’t even acknowledged the two turtles in the backyard! However, she does have a stuffed turtle toy that she loves and takes it everywhere.

Nilla is a snuggler. She loves being with her people, preferably in their laps and enjoys getting kisses on her sweet nose from her people. Nilla likes meeting new people. She has not met a stranger that she didn’t immediately consider a friend. She does jump up to let people know how excited she is to meet them, so her new family will want to help her learn to keep all four paws on the floor when meeting people. Because of her jumping, we would not recommend her to families with small children.

Nilla knows a few commands, and her new family can work with her to improve her skills. She knows how to sit and stay, but she pulls when on a leash. She is young and strong, so leash training is something that her new family must address.

Nilla is house-trained and uses the doggie door to go outside when she needs to. She is not crate trained but sleeps on a dog bed next to her foster Mom.

Nilla’s ideal home would be with an active family that will take her on walks and hikes and have time to play with her. She would do well with children over the age of 8 and another dog that she can play with and allow her to use up all that energy!

Nilla is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped.
