ADOPTED!
Meet Barry! He is a lovable, affectionate 5-6-year-old male black Labrador Retriever. He came to WCLRR when his family found that they couldn’t give him the love and attention he deserved. He adores having his chin rubbed and will sit right in front of you and put his head back to make it easier for you to scratch his chin!
Barry is a medium-energy pup that loves being with people of all ages. He is always looking for snuggles from his foster family and loves playing with balls and chewing on bones. Barry gets on very well with other pets in the home. He lives with three other labs, a Maltese and a cat, and there have been no problems. Barry also loves to eat. He carries his food bowl around sometimes in case his family finds something that needs to go into it!
Barry is a sweet boy, but he could use some extra help from his new family in a few areas. He does know “sit,” and his foster mom is working with him on other commands. Barry is very food and treat motivated, so training will be easy. He enjoys walks, but his new family may want to provide additional training on this. Barry has been known to counter surf, so his family needs to make sure that counters are clear of anything that could be dangerous to him.
Barry is crate trained. He sleeps through the night in a crate in his foster parents’ room and gets up when they do. Barry considers the crate his safe space and will go into it during the day to hang out.
Barry is not yet fully house-trained. Although his foster has been working with him on this, and he is doing great, his new family will need to work on a routine with him and learn his signs to go outside.
Barry’s ideal home would be with an individual, a couple, or a family. As long as someone is around most of the time, he’ll be a happy boy. Barry loves to be loved; the more attention he can get, the better! He gets on well with kids but sometimes jumps, so he may do best with older kids.
Barry is neutered, is current on his vaccines, and is microchipped.
