ADOPTED!

Meet Buster! He is a stunning 6-month-old black Labrador Retriever with a glossy black coat and beautiful brown eyes. Buster’s family adopted him when they were working from home. Once they returned to work, Buster was in his crate for long hours, and the family felt that he’d be happier in a home where he could have more playtime.

Buster is a typical Lab puppy with lots of energy. He needs a lot of playtimes. He loves to chase that tail that’s been following him around! Buster also enjoys chewing on Nylabones and chasing balls. Buster does well with other animals and lives with labs, small dogs, and cats. When it comes to other dogs, Buster is a typical kid that will “test the waters” to see what he can get away with, but he responds quickly to corrections from other dogs.

Buster is a high-energy dog that has not been given much guidance in his short life, and his new family must commit to training him. Buster’s foster is working with him on crate and house training, and he’s doing great! His new family will need to continue reinforcing what he’s learned by establishing a routine. Buster has been taught to walk on a leash and knows the “sit” command.

Buster is a curious pup inclined to check counters to look for unauthorized treats. His new family will want to keep counters clear of any items that could be dangerous to Buster. He is a naughty puppy and enjoys stealing clothes and shoes!

Buster sleeps in his foster parents’ bedroom on a dog bed. He sleeps well through the night, but he should be taken outside first thing in the morning to avoid potty training mistakes.

Buster’s ideal home would be one with people that are home most of the time, with the ability and patience to work with him on commands and manners. Living with another dog would be a plus as the other dog could be a playmate for Buster and “teach him the ropes” of being a good dog in their home! Buster has lived with small dogs and cats, so small pets in the family would be OK. Buster is a typical high-energy puppy that could knock down small children or older adults. He would do best in a home with a family with older children or a younger couple that can match his energy level!

Buster is up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped. Due to his young age, WCLRR’s veterinarians recommend that Buster’s neutering be delayed until he is a bit older. Buster will be adopted on a neuter contract. His foster rep will discuss this with potential adopters.
