ADOPTED!
Meet Dale! He is a 10-12-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever with a sweet disposition and beautifully expressive eyes. Dale was surrendered to WCLRR when his owner moved and couldn’t bring Dale with him. Dale has had a complete physical exam and senior bloodwork, and all came back as good. Dale does have a couple of common lipomas for labs, but our vet believed that they should be left alone due to his age.
Dale believes that age is just a number. He may be a senior, but he has the energy level of a younger dog! He loves to run and is pretty fast for his age! His foster describes him as the happiest, rambunctious, most love-bugging pup you’ll ever meet!
Dale knows to sit and stay. He is pretty good on the leash, but he hasn’t been walked very much. He is house trained and hasn’t had any accidents at his foster home. Dale sleeps on the floor next to his foster.
Dale is cautious and a bit fearful when meeting new people and needs time to “warm up” to them. Offering a few treats will help break the ice, but his new family should have patience with him and understand that Dale will take a few days to feel comfortable with them. When Dale came to WCLRR, he was wary of his foster and new home. But within a day, Dale began following his foster around. Soon Dale would come to his foster to get pets and kisses. Dale is now a very loving pup who “explodes with joy” when he sees his foster, even after a few minutes of separation!
Dale’s ideal home would be a calm environment, perhaps with an individual, couple, or family with older kids, where he can relax and enjoy being with his people. Dale may be a bit standoffish at first, but he’s a Velcro boy at heart, and once he’s comfortable, he wants to be around his people.
Dale is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, and is microchipped.
