ADOPTED!

Meet Groovy! She is a sweet, loving three-year-old chocolate Labrador Retriever with beautiful brown eyes. Groovy was surrendered to WCLRR when a family took her in temporarily to help a friend. Unfortunately, the owner could not take Groovy back and care for her, and the family could not keep her.

Groovy’s favorite activities are playing in the swimming pool and playing fetch. She loves being with her people and follows them everywhere. Groovy has not been around children while in foster. She does not jump on people, listens and obeys well, and would be OK with older children.

Groovy lives with three other dogs, two younger dogs, and a ten-year-old senior. Groovy loves to play with the younger dogs. She respects the senior dog and doesn’t challenge her. Groovy barks at the resident tortoise in the yard but doesn’t bother it.

Although Groovy gets along well with other dogs, she can be a bit possessive regarding food. So her foster Mom feeds Groovy in a separate room from the other dogs.

Groovy sleeps quietly through the night on a dog bed in her foster’s bedroom. The other dogs are also in the room, but Groovy does not interact with them at night.

Groovy is house-trained and hasn’t had any accidents in her foster home. She enjoys walks but does pull on the leash, so her new family should work with her on leash manners.
Groovy’s ideal home would be with an active individual, couple, or family with a fenced yard that she can play in, preferably with a swimming pool. She loves other dogs and would be very happy in a home with one or more pup siblings for companionship.

Groovy is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped.
