ADOPTED!
Meet Summer! She is a sweet, loving female chocolate Labrador Retriever, approximately ten years old. Summer came to WCLRR when her owner could not care for her and wanted her to have a better life. When Summer came to WCLRR, she had infections in her mouth and had to have several teeth removed. She also had a large lipoma (benign fatty tissue) removed. She has had a complete examination and blood work, and all results were normal.
Summer is a very happy, medium-energy dog. She adores her morning walks and walks briskly. Her foster says that she is a dream on the leash. She doesn’t pull or try to run. Her foster has let her off leash for the last block at the end of their walk, and Summer doesn’t wander off. Instead, she stays right with her foster Mom. Summer loves hanging out with her people but isn’t a big fan of fetch or other games. She likes toys and will chew on a nylabone sometimes.
Summer’s foster describes her as a big love. She is just the sweetest girl! Summer loves people and getting attention. She gets so excited when she meets friends on her walks and has many friends at the vet’s office! Everyone Summer meets loves her! Her foster’s 12-year-old neighbor has taken Summer for walks with no problem, and Summer has also met the five-year-old boy that lives nearby. She doesn’t jump. She wants people to pet her!
Summer gets along well with other pets too. She gets along well with her foster’s three dogs and shares her space with the cat. Summer and the cat even drink out of the same water bowl – simultaneously! She ignores the tortoises.
Summer is house-trained and uses the doggy door at her foster home. She has not had any accidents. She sleeps through the night on a doggy bed in her foster’s bedroom, although she is a bit of a snorer!
Summer’s ideal home would be with an individual, couple, or family looking for a sweet companion who wants to hang out with them. She loves walks but wants to be with her people in the home. She is very calm and would be fine in a house with children and other dogs or cats.
Summer is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and microchipped.
